Love God, Spend less, Give more, Love all. That's our goal each Christmas. Over the years we have seen God at work in our world, both locally and globally, as we embrace this fourfold challenge. Read more about Pastor Dave's vision behind this challenge by clicking the link below and then learn about the people we will serve through this year's Gift To The World projects.
Worldcast Ministries / Harold Eberle - A Pastor’s Training College in Peshawar, Pakistan is in danger right now. It is located near the border of Afghanistan and the location of the building currently rented from Muslims is a target for terrorism and those attending are already receiving persecution. A piece of property is currently being purchased.
Funds are needed for a building and furnishings. The picture below shows Bible school leaders praying on the land that is being purchased.
Support is also needed in the form of a safe house for an attorney who is providing shelter for women and children being persecuted for becoming Christians. The attorney has been clubbed, stabbed and shot at as he fights for the rights of these women and their children.
Project Nourish - Right now 20 million people in East Africa—including Foursquare church members—are facing starvation. The response: Project Nourish. Foursquare Disaster Relief (FDR) is responding with food and Jesus’ message of hope. We’re joining in too. Let’s help stop starvation this Christmas!
The Water Project - The water crisis is real, and affecting women, children, families and farmers. Women and girls in sub-Saharan Africa are spending hours a day fetching dirty water which leads to illness and disease, robbing entire communities of their futures. As we support The Water Project, we help bring clean water through new wells, rehabbed wells, sand dams and catchment systems to schools, medical clinics and villages by partnering with local national leaders. Click through the pictures below to see the celebration of previous projects representing clean water!
In Yakima, the 40th Campus is excited to support Camp Hope, an encampment for the homeless population of Yakima County, by helping them improve the infrastructure in the camp.
The Online Campus is planning to launch services in additional retirement centers. Celebrate Recovery hopes to extend their reach of ministry to those in the community who are overcoming addiction.
East Valley will support ’The Love Project’ which plans to help Rod’s House, and Young Lives as well as meeting other community needs. East Valley also plans to upgrade their facility to enhance the Sunday experience through improvements to the worship center stage and sound system.
One of the prayers of the Walla Walla campus, New Joy is to be reaching the Whitman Campus for Jesus. They have made inroads through someone who leads a campus club called ‘Women of Color Voices’ and attends church at New Joy. They will be providing food for meetings, funds for speakers and events, and overall support for the club.
New Life in Sunnyside plans to continue the partnership they have with Washington Elementary by supporting their reading program. They are also preparing to launch Celebrate Recovery in January 2018.
